Royals Look to Continue Winning Ways On The Road This Week
After today’s series finale against the Minnesota Twins, the Kansas City Royals will continue their nine game road trip with a quick pit stop in Colorado for games Tuesday and Wednesday, before heading to Texas on their day off Thursday and finishing up the road trip with a three game set against the Texas Rangers. The Royals have taken two out of three against the Twins thus far and will send Jason Vargas to the mound to face off against Trevor May. Royals vs. Twins tickets are available for as low as $4 so if you’re in the area, make sure to check out the game.
James Shields and Danny Duffy will get the call on Tuesday and Wednesday to face a depleted Rockies lineup that will be without their young superstars, Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez. Shields boasts an 11-6 record currently with a 3.29 ERA. He has been everything the Royals have asked for since coming over in a trade prior to the 2013 season and they will lean on him heavily over the last forty games of the season. Rockies tickets begin at just $6 for both games, including Tuesday’s night cap which offers $1 hot dogs.
For the weekend set against the Texas Rangers, the Royals will send Yordano Ventura, Jeremy Guthrie, and Jason Vargas to the hill and they will each be facing off against Colby Lewis, Nick Tepesch, and Miles Mikolas, respectively. The trio of Rangers pitchers have a collective 13-22 record this season so the Royals will look to capitalize and continue their winning ways. Royals vs. Texas Rangers tickets begin at just $3 for each game with an average ticket price of $27 for the series.
The Royals have won twelve of their last fourteen and fifteen of their last eighteen as they look to continue to build their AL Central lead. With a week’s worth of games against teams down on their luck this season, fans should be optimistic at their chances of winning four or five games out of the six this week.
