Superhuman pedestrian hit by bus in downtown KC, walks off like nothing happened

Automobiles — which, as I understand it, are built from materials such as iron and steel — tend to hurt when you collide with them. The other day, I was walking down the street, got distracted by my phone, bumped into a parked Camry at a rate of speed no higher than 0.5 miles per hour, and almost started crying. 

Not everyone is so immobilized by such collisions. A video released yesterday by the ATA shows a woman getting hit by a MAX bus at Ninth St. and Walnut in downtown Kansas City, tumbling several feet, sitting up, scratching her head a little, and then sauntering off to retrieve her cellphone.

An ATA spokesman told Fox 4 that the incident is being investigated. The video, which you can watch here, reveals that just before impact, a bus passenger had approached the driver, distracting him from the road. The woman — whose head was bleeding “really bad,” according to a bystander who helped her — was taken to the hospital. We wish her the best in her recovery, although she probably does not need it, because her body is made out of stone and brick.
