Trailer Park Boys are headed to the Midland this Christmas

One of the small, sublime joys of having a Netflix subscription is the ability to queue up a 20-minute episode of Trailer Park Boys whenever you feel like it. On Friday, Netflix uploaded the freshly filmed eighth season of the Canadian TV series, a mockumentary-style show that follows a coterie of petty criminals and degenerates around a trailer-park town called Sunnyvale. Series creator Mike Clattenburg isn’t involved in the latest season, but pretty much everybody else is: Ricky, Julian, Bubbles, Lahey, Randy. It ought to be good for some deep laughs.
The boys are also doing a tour this winter with a holiday theme: the Dear Santa Claus Go Fuck Yourself Tour. It stops at the Midland on Wednesday, December 3. Tickets on sale this Friday, September 12, at noon. Here’s the synopsis of the show:
“When Bubbles tries to spread the true meaning of Christmas to the world, his goodhearted plans are botched by Julian wanting to cash in on the festive season and Ricky’s relentless pursuit to meet the real Santa. And if that wasn’t enough, all three of them have to deal with the very intoxicated Jim Lahey and his cheeseburger-eating sidekick, Randy.”
Lahey alone is enough to get me into that theater.
