Almost Top Model

Diversity — of shape, age and gender — is a theme for tonight’s Girls and Guys on the Runway Fall Fashion Show, which features tweens to 40-something models, at Penn Valley Community College Theater (3200 Southwest Trafficway). “People tend to believe that models can’t be but a certain size, and that isn’t true,” says the event’s organizer, who goes by the initials S.J. And yet, the best-known person on the runway tonight pretty much exemplifies the skinny standard. Sleek Furonda Brasfield competed in the sixth season of America’s Next Top Model. S.J. snagged Brasfield for the event because the model’s uncle is married to S.J.’s first cousin. Advance tickets cost $10 and are available at Jim’s Fat Burger (6901 Prospect) and Island Spice Caribbean Restaurant (10 West 39th Street). Admission at the door costs $15. For more information, call S.J. at 816-215-7568.
