ON THE HOLIDAY FRONT

It’s the day after Christmas, but holiday events keep rolling with free films and music at the National World War I Museum (100 West 26th Street) at Liberty Memorial. At 10:30 a.m., catch silent star — and World War I veteran — Buster Keaton in a 1930 talkie called Doughboys. The film includes a character named Ukulele Ike, which is a good segue into the museum’s 12:15 p.m. musical event, a performance by the Kansas City Ukesters Club. The Ukesters perform holiday and World War I music — “ukulele music like you have never heard before,” the museum promises. At 1 p.m., the French film Joyeux Noel depicts the 1914 Christmas truce on the western front. The 2005 film has become a favorite of the museum’s “The Great War, the Great Movies” holiday tradition.
