Thao and Mirah With the Most of All

Thao and Mirah have answered countless indie kids’ prayers. Earlier this year, the like-minded women performed a collaborative set at the San Francisco Noise Pop festival. The show was so well-received that the duo decided to make a tour of it. Thao Nguyen (of Thao With the Get Down Stay Down) and Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn (known as Mirah) are both known for their quirky, schoolgirl voices, but musically speaking, they’re not so much sisters as cousins. Melodious, summery ballads are Thao’s territory — she has covered it thoroughly, with four albums in four years. Mirah draws on a decade’s worth of material, from traditional singer-songwriter fare to freaky alt-country. Backed by a supporting band (billed as the Most of All), the spazzy songstresses should track through complementary material from both of their catalogs.
