Mills Record Co. completes expansion, throws Glitch Mob party tonight

Last month, we reported on the progress of the Mills Record Co. expansion into the former Vapor Up space next door. Last week, construction was finally completed, and on Saturday, the shop’s new addition was officially open for business, much to the joy of local record enthusiasts.

The new space means that Mills Record Co. has doubled in size and now houses a real stage for in-stores, as well as a proper listening station.

There is also this completely badass bird on the ceiling.

The folks over at Mills Record Co. will be celebrating all month with various in-store events, label giveaways, limited T-shirts and new collections of used vinyl unveiled every Saturday morning (along with photo booths).

The first event goes down tonight: A meet-and-greet and signing with the Glitch Mob, performing tonight at the Midland. The meet-and-greet starts at 6 p.m., and there will be a ticket giveaway, in case you’ve got Monday night off. Details here

And mark these on your calendar:

Saturday, October 18: In-store show with Bummer, the Fog and the Sluts, 7 p.m.
Saturday, October 25: In-store show with She’s a Keeper, Mirry Wild and the Jorge Arana Trio, 6 p.m.
