Conversations from the Edge

Conversations from the Edge…, a collection of daring, humorous, and sometimes disturbing works by painter/sculptor Maura Conry, will show at the VALA Gallery March 4-26. An ex-nun, Conry takes an unflinching look at psychological issues wrought by change, alienation, religion, and illness. Among her 30 works will be selections from her “Goddess of Chemotherapy Series,” a cancer survivalists’ guide to transformation. The artist will be available at opening and closing festivities for personal conversations about the process of creating and revealing such edgy work.
