Parisi Coffee to be served at Kauffman Stadium

When the beloved Royals come home tomorrow, fans will see a totally different ballpark. I thought while visiting Kauffman Stadium last week that there was no way in hell the $250 million renovation would be done in eight days. But it is. Also last week Aramark, District Manager Scott McGinn told me the only local retailers in the stadium were Topsy’s Popcorn and Sheridan’s Frozen Custard but that the Royals were always looking for new local partners.
They have found one in Parisi Coffee, which is launching a new blend of java in conjunction with the 2009 season. The new coffee is called Royal Blue and will be served at the stadium’s restaurants, in the suites and in the press box.
Royal Blue will also be sold at Hy-Vees, the only grocery stores where you can buy Royals’ tickets. As for the coffee, it’s made with Costa Rican beans. On its blog, Parisi Roasters describes it as “honey’ coffee. You will find it has a big body
with notes of citrus and a sweet, savory flavor.”
No word on cost but other Parisi blends retail for $10 to $13 per 12 ounces. To get a preview of the stadium, check out this photo slideshow my co-worker David Martin took this past Sunday.
