Belle and Sebastian stop at the Uptown Theater in June

Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance, the new album from Glasgow, Scotland’s Belle and Sebastian, might surprise longtime fans. The band hasn’t exactly abandoned its folk-pop roots as much as it has expanded upon them, with a sound that pulls heartily from disco, and grand, sweeping choruses. It’s already being heralded as one of the band’s finest achievements, which is impressive, considering Belle and Sebastian’s extensive catalog and 18-year career. And on Thursday, June 18, you can experience the majesty live in concert when the band stops at the Uptown Theater.
Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance will be available on Tuesday, January 20. NPR has the full stream of the album available here.
