Dorothy fights Kansas’ book-banning Wicked Witches

I’m not sure who Dorothy is, but she’s starting a campaign to fight Kansas’ book banning, intelligent-design-loving hordes. Life in Oz uses The Wizard of Oz allegory — and a spinoff of Sean Tevis’ amazing (but unsuccessful) cartoon campaign for Kansas state representative — to tell Dorothy’s fight for progressive change in Kansas. Dorothy isn’t getting much help from the Cowardly Lion, ID-happy Scarecrow or oil-hungry Tin Man, so she needs your help to stop the Wicked Witch in Kansas’ future school board fights (because certainly will be more).
Life in Oz says:
We plan to be the ones who choose what our kids can and can’t read. And there are many more of us than you might think.
If we can just find 1,000 people who care about how we educate our kids and are willing to part with $7.47 we can stop the witch in our community and send a strong message to the rest of Oz.
The cartoon by Travis “Foxymoron” Fox is excellent. Oh, they’re also taking suggestions of books people want protected from book bans. Look out, Class KC.
