First the Star divorces Hearne Christopher Jr. and now …

Hearne Christopher Jr. used to write about high-profile divorces in his Kansas City Star column. Now, the gossip columnist’s wife has filed for divorce. On December 29, Lori W. Christopher, citing incompatibility, filed a petition in Johnson County District Court.

The Christophers have joint temporary care of their two minor children.

A judge ordered Hearne Christopher Jr. to pay $1,516 per month in

temporary child support. Lori Christopher was also awarded temporary

maintenance $1,428 a month and temporary possession of the couple’s

house.

The Star laid off Christopher in November. However, a comeback appears in the works. Last month, Sun publisher Steve Rose told The Pitch’s Peter Rugg that he had struck a deal with Christopher to return to print.
