Medical marijuana gets a hearing in Topeka

Now that the fake marijuana is outlawed in Kansas, we can get to legalizing the real stuff.
Kansas state Rep. Gail Finney‘s bill (read it after the jump) that would authorize “compassionate care centers” where Kansas-grown
pot would be dispensed on physicians’ orders gets a hearing before the House Health and Human Services Committee this afternoon at 1:30 in room 784 of the Docking Building.
Finney, a Wichita Democrat, has lupus, which makes her sympathetic to those coping with illness.
Last month, she explained to KSN-TV in Wichita, “There are people that silently use marijuana for their pain and for
their comfort and I don’t think they should be penalized for it.”
