Incoming: Nick Oliveri at Czar Bar, February 20

Nick Oliveri is the king of stoner metal, or sludge rock, or whatever you want to call it. He was in Katzenjammer, the original incarnation of the band that would come to be known as Kyuss, which he then rejoined for two albums. He’s also played in the Dwarves and Queens of the Stone Age.

At the moment, Oliveri is most associated with his band Mondo Generator.

All this noise should be pushed aside, however, as it’s Oliveri as Death Acoustic that’s playing Czar Bar on February 20. Taken from the title of Oliveri’s solo album released last year, one can pretty much expect solo acoustic renditions of various Oliveri-related projects as listed above, along with a smattering of covers. Personally, I’m kind of hoping for G.G. Allin‘s “Outlaw Scumfuc.”

It’s a Saturday night show, and the Czar Bar’s a pretty intimate venue, so be prepared for some rowdiness — and possible nudity. Oliveri’s pretty infamous for playing naked. You may end up with wang in your face.
