Afrobeat and honky-tonk: a match made in heaven?

Hearts of Darkness and Rex Hobart and the Misery Boys will combine forces on January 29 for a big, spicy gumbo of local sound. We think that the band’s Facebook event says it best:

What kind of music do we have? Every kind! We got Afrobeat, Funk, Soul, Hip-hop, Honky Tonk, Country AND Western. All served up in midtown’s best-sounding, fastest-pouring dive bar. We might even have to put up some chicken wire!
