Plain Wight grunge rockers to lose their locks (for love)

Back in December, Liam Sumnicht and Jesus Butler, two members of the local grunge rock band Plain Wight, promised on video that they would cut their hair for charity come springtime if 1,000 people joined their Facebook group. Well, the publicity stunt worked. The group If 1,000 KC’ans join this group by Jan 1st, we’ll cut our hair! boasts 1,829 members as of today and the rockers have recruited at least three other longhairs to trim at least 10 inches from their heads. I suspect that the goodhearted Plain Wight boys would have donated their hairs no matter what. But what a nice little publicity stunt. The scissors are supposed to come out February 21 on stage at Jerry’s Bait Shop in Lee’s Summit after Plain Wight, Karma Effect and My Only Danger perform.
