Cuarddarro Lewis accused of killing Joseph Payne

Joseph Payne supposedly owed money to Cuarddarro D. Lewis, leading to a fight that cost him his life.

Payne, 40, and Lewis, 22, fought at 3014 Cleveland on March 30. Payne got the better of the younger Lewis in the fight. But it wasn’t over.

A few minutes after the fight, Payne accused Lewis of taking his cell phone. Lewis denied it. When Payne turned to walk away, Lewis clubbed him in the back of the head with a pole, according to a couple of witnesses.

Payne never got up. He died from his injuries on

April 7.
