Michelle Brito-Pacheco, widow of homicide victim Mauro Brito-Pacheco, has increased the reward money offered through the TIPS Hotline for information leading to the arrest of her husband’s killers.
Mauro, 38, was working at Tina’s Hair Salon when he was shot and killed during a robbery on August 10, 2009. Police say the perpetrators were three men; they got away with $20.
TIPS Hotline rewards start at $1,000, but Michelle Brito-Pacheco has
been saving money to donate. She estimates the reward is up to $2,735
with her additions.
“Me and my daughter sent in some more money that we would’ve spent on him for Christmas,” Michelle Brito-Pacheco tells The Pitch.
Mauro Brito-Pacheco fathered two children with Michelle: a 6-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl.
“There hasn’t been any suspects or anything,” Michelle Brito-Pacheco says. “The only reason we’re doing a reward is we want these people off the street.”
