Omaha Royals wear a deeper shade of blue

The Omaha Royals, the KC Royals’ top affiliate, begin their season on Thursday. The team’s first baseman is an on-base machine named Kila Ka’aihue, who drew 102 walks as an O-Royal in 2009.

Ka’aihue is Hawaiian. So is Barack Obama, who, it turns out, would probably receive a warmer reception at Rosenblatt Stadium than at the K.

A Republican poll surfaced last week indicating that people who go to minor league baseball games are more likely to be Democrats than the people who click the turnstiles at major league parks.
