Gerry G. Gorvenburg: Clerk shot to death at Grovenburg’s Retail Liquor Store in Shawnee

Gerry G. Grovenburg has been identified as the store clerk shot and killed at Gorvenburg’s Retail Liquor Store, 7635 Quivira Road in

Shawnee, on Wednesday night.

Grovenburg, 61, was found shot behind the counter of the store around

10:25 p.m. Foul play is suspected.

Metro Squad detective Marcus Regan tells The Pitch that the “motive is still unclear” and they still have no suspects.

Grovenburg, of Spring Hill, owned the store with his wife and son, Regan said.
