abandonment of a corpse. Police accuse Danial

Rinehart of knocking up one of his daughters four times (only one of the children survived).

Finally, Jackson County prosecutors have charged Whitney J. Selectman with second-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of her 2-year-old daughter on March 11.

In March, Jarrett E. Tinsley, 20, was also charged with the girl’s death at the couple’s Raytown apartment (8611

Utopia).

A report issued by the medical examiner in July listed the girl’s cause

of death as “multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death was

homicide.” The medical examiner also reported that the trauma was not

accidental and there were “approximately 36 impact sites on her body,”

including a rib fracture, an older fracture and “hemorrhage of the

rectum.”

Tinsley sent Selectman, 20, a text message on the night of the girl’s death reading, “Baby you can always trust me im no damn rapest but I need to stop hitting baby when she don’t listen. I notice she like me more once I stop doing it. I been tryin to work wit her. Anyhow things will work out.” The next message he sent read “love you too I know wat I need to do an its simple take it easy on her .. well both of them but ok ill call later.”
