Trevor Roberts, Kansas high school football player, loses part of leg after compound fracture during game

Trevor Roberts was tearing up the field a couple of weeks ago for McLouth High School. The senior running back had already racked up 193 total yards and three touchdowns in the first half against Sunrise

Christian Academy.

Roberts was looking good until a late in the second quarter when he suffered a compound fracture in his left leg, breaking both his tibia and fibula. The Lawrence Journal-World reports that things got even worse for Roberts when a gangrenous infection forced doctors to amputate a portion of his left leg at Kansas University Hospital in KCK.
