Warby Parker storefront opening on the Country Club Plaza this weekend

Warby Parker, the beloved online glasses retailer launched in 2010, has recently been opening storefronts in the United States’ largest cities: New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Miami. The company arrived in the Midwest in April, with a store in Chicago. Up next is Kansas City. Its first store in our humble burg opens this Saturday, September 12, on the Country Club Plaza.

“As the country’s first-ever suburban shopping district, we admired its [the Plaza’s] desire to innovate, transform an industry, and offer an incredible shopping experience—a few values we share at Warby Parker,” Warby Parker co-CEO and co-founder Neil Blumenthal says in a release. “Country Club Plaza was born out of the idea that shopping should be easy and fun, and that’s exactly how we feel about buying glasses.”

The store will be located at 307 Nichols Road (across from the Starbucks to the south). Shoppers can browse for frames; get adjustments and pick up orders at its “Reference Desk”; and even pick up some reading material (the store stocks a roster of books from independent presses, such as McSweeney’s, New Directions and the Figures).
