Even more problems for Citadel Plaza

The Community Development Corporation of Kansas City is in a whole heap of trouble with the Citadel Plaza debacle. CDC-KC is in default with the mess at 63rd Street and Prospect, just as the City Council is trying to decide whether to dump $20 million more into the project. Lots of boring but important details about CDC-KC’s failures, from finances to cleaning up the site, which may lead to the city trying to find another developer — if CDC-KC can’t get out of default by August 10. Best of luck to the city on finding a taker. The Star has a copy of the “notice of default,” but I know you’re not going to read it.
