Every $1 helps send an elderly stripper to Slamdance

Getting to the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, ain’t cheap for an indie filmmaker like Jack Truman. So he needs all the help he can get — especially in this economy — to make the trip with his ex-stripper momma, Opal, in a couple of weeks. Yep, Truman made a documentary/mockumentary film, The X-Rated Grandma, about his mother, who stripped for 20 years. Here’s her blog.

“As a child, I grew up in a very different environment,” Truman writes on his Web site. “And

today, 40 years later, when people look at Opal, she is nothing like

she seems.”
