Killa City: KCMO homicide No. 44, Domineak L. Bynum

Kansas City police found a man shot in the head on the sidewalk near 10105 Freemont Tuesday night. The man died today.

Kansas City police identified the man as 19-year-old Domineak L. Bynum of Kansas City, Missouri. An officer patrolling the area of 99th and Blue Ridge heard several gunshots. Police received several calls of shots being fired in the area of 101st and Freemont around the same time.

That’s where officers found Bynum on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.

A search of MySpace returned an old page for a Domineak Bynum from Kansas City, Missouri. Bynum’s profile name on the site is “$TREET LIFE.COM/RAP STAR! KINDA NIGGA.” His last login was September 1, 2007.

In August 2008, Bynum entered an alford plea to charges of second-degree robbery and served 120 days in “shock incarceration.”

Update (4:54 p.m. Wednesday, May 20): The KCPD now says Domineak L. Bynum has not died yet. Here’s what they say:

To clarify the previous email, Mr. Bynum is brain dead and the hospital is harvesting his organs for donation. His death will not officially be counted as a homicide until this procedure is complete.
