The Royals have decided to bring back the powder-blue duds of the Bo Jackson era. But instead of the full-on, baby blue jersey and pants of yesteryear, they’re going with a light-blue shirt and white pants.
These new duds may make Mark Grudzielanek look like he’s headed to a Boca Raton early bird special. But there’s something to be said of the nostalgia that’s certain to come from the baby blues. What kid growing up in KC back in the day didn’t want to be this powder-blue guy, surrounded as he is by the fake wood paneling of an ’80s rec room?
That is, as long as the powder-blue isn’t followed by the other powder that defined the Royals in the ‘80s.
