Sprint trades 6,000 employees and wireless network operations to Ericsson

In the telecommunications version of an NBA salary dump, Sprint just traded 6,000 employees and its wireless network operations to Ericsson.  This all sounds kind of scary, but Sprint claims no layoffs are planned (yet), and Sprint also gets to keep ownership of its wireless network operations. The traded employees get a new signature on their checks. No word on if Sprint is positioning itself against the New York Knicks in the LeBron James 2010 free-agency sweepstakes.
