Urban Artistry

Are your friends tired of your 2 a.m. drunk
dials? Has spring awakened your creative spirit but failed to rouse your muse? If you’ve never attempted to sculpt objects from wood or to use gourds for canvases, as Missouri artists Ken Nelsen and Marilyn Peterie (respectively) have, then the fourth annual Downtown Art Annual might be just the spot you need to hit for inspiration. The fair features 150 artists — painters, photographers, potters, sculptors and jewelers — and takes over the Power & Light District (1370 Walnut) from 11 a.m. to
6 p.m. (It began Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and continued Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
Admission is free. To learn more, see
artfestival.com.

Fri., May 20, 5-9 p.m.; Sat., May 21, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun., May 22, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., 2011
