Brian Pennington, handyman accused of slashing woman’s throat, bound over for trial

We still don’t know why handyman Brian Pennington allegedly slit Marti Hill‘s throat and left her for dead in her Prairie Village basement.
Pennington, 26, was in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing
on charges of attempted first-degree murder in the September 8, 2010,
attack. Hill’s co-workers called authorities after she didn’t show up at work.
Police found Hill in the basement with her throat slit, jaw broken
and skull fractured. She amazingly survived.
Hill had hired
Pennington to work on her house. She had paid him $500. A few days later,
Pennington showed up at her house unannounced, KMBC reported.
