Wasim Cheema, accused NYC meter-cheating cabbie, arrested in Kansas City

New York, you can have your (alleged) scammer cabbie back. Wasim Cheema, who the New York Post calls “the poster boy for New York’s massive cab-rate overcharging scam,” was arrested in Kansas City last week.

The 23-year-old had spent a year on the run after being busted in “the biggest taxi-cheating ring in history.” Authorities here shipped Cheema’s (allegedly) meter-cheating ass back to New York City so he could be arraigned on charges that he defrauded more than 2,500 passengers and pulled in the kingly sum of $11,690.
