Burn victim wasn’t cooking meth in abandoned hospital after all

Saturday brought the bizarre news of a burned man found outside the former Trinity Lutheran Hospital at 31st St. and Baltimore. Police and paramedics arrived on the scene of the building that’s being converted into condos and found the man suffering grisly but not life-threatening third-degree burns. Police quickly suspected that he and a partner had been cooking up some meth inside the shell of a building and blew the lab up.

Two guys running a meth operation in the middle of a renovation site would be strange enough, but this story got weirder. After hours of searching the hospital for the burned man’s partner and cook site, police found … nothing. There was no meth lab in the building. Eerie!
