Bubba Starling choo, choo, chooses the Kansas City Royals

Bubba Starling is staying home. The Kansas City Royals reached an 11th-hour deal with the former Gardner Edgerton star.
Starling, the Royals’ first-round draft pick and the fifth overall selection, could have gone to college at the University of Nebraska on a football scholarship. But he signed a multimillion-dollar deal with the home team (the Royals didn’t release terms of the deal, but the Star reported it’s a three-year, $7.5 million deal).
“We are ecstatic and relieved to have this process behind us and have Bubba in the fold,” Royals general manager Dayton Moore said in the press release issued around 11:18 p.m. Monday.
