Kemper Arena is headed for destruction, but Kansas City won’t have it paid for until 2016

The Kansas City Business Journal reported that Kemper has a date with destruction, and it’ll be replaced by a 5,000-seat Agricultural Events Center.
In September 2010, The Pitch reported that the city still owes $11.9 million on the seldom-used arena. Not sure what that figure is now, but we reported that the debt from renovations wouldn’t be paid off until 2016.
