Man found shot to death at 45th and Askew is the fifth homicide victim of 2012
UPDATE: The victim of Tuesday night’s homicide has been identified as 33-year-old Leland Dickens. Police are still looking for the killer.
Original Story: Kansas City police are investigating the fourth homicide of the week. (It’s the fifth homicide of 2012 in KCMO.) Gunshots around 8 p.m. led residents in the area of East 45th and Askew to call the cops.
Officers found the body of a black man in his mid-20s between two houses. The man was dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police that they heard a disturbance and then gunshots.
