Listen Before the Show: Beats Antique

If you enjoy artists who blend seemingly diverse yet oddly connected musical genres with sprightly performance art, you may dig Beats Antique. The eclectic trio mixes live electronica, world, roots and brass-band music with professional belly dancing. Members David Satori and Tommy Cappel are classically trained musicians. Zoe Jakes is the group’s dancer. She trained at Miles Copeland’s Bellydance Superstars and Rachel Brice’s Indigo Belly Dance Company.

You can listen to a four-song set from the band at Daytrotter. Songs performed include: “Beauty Beats,” “Daze,” “Egyptic” and “She’s Looking for Something.”

On April 6, Beats Antique will be at the Granada. Support from Random Rab. Doors open at 9 p.m. for the 18-and-older show. Advance tickets are $18; they’re $20 at the door.
